Selim Çınar's focus is on the hidden layers of all living things and the universe. The artist emphasizes that all aspects hidden under the persona actually constitute the reality of the individual and that the power of the universe is hidden in the layers under its shell. While examining that existence and the universe can be perceived even more when we can see and show these layers, he has adopted the motto of “Reveal – Without Fear – Bravely – Inside”. The artist, who is fed eclectically from philosophy, analytical psychology, geography and prehistoric cultures, uses figurative and amorphous forms in his works, where he refers to the layers of consciousness, and captures reliefs, spaces and color layers on ceramic surfaces with the paraffin decor technique.
