Picnic

Guga Contemporary presents "Picnic", a solo exhibition by Eisa Jabbari, curated by Elnaz Amini.

The exhibition features "Picnic", the artist's latest body of work, in which he reflects on the transformations of the past century and questions the forces that have shaped them.

Although change is an inevitable part of life's cycle, it is not always determined by individuals or by the present moment. Transformations inherited from the past—beyond the individual's control—continue to shape the present, extending their influence into every aspect of life.

At first glance, a picnic appears to be a simple and joyful escape. Yet, beneath its pleasant surface lies a deeper desire to distance oneself from reality. In Jabbari's interpretation, contemporary society normalizes an imposed way of living through the metaphor of the picnic, embracing an existence shaped not by personal choice but by externally constructed ideals.
