Manifesto

Selim Çınar's focus is on the hidden layers of all living things and the universe. He emphasizes that all aspects hidden under the persona actually constitute the reality of the individual and that the power of the universe is hidden in the layers under its shell. While examining that existence and the universe can be perceived even more when we can see and show these layers, he adopted the motto of “Without Fear – Bravely – Show Yourself”. Selim is eclectically influenced by philosophy, analytical psychology, geography and prehistoric cultures and makes references to layers of consciousness. He uses figurative and amorphous forms in his works and captures reliefs, spaces and color layers on ceramic surfaces.
