"Hayyam: Moments of Being" presents a series of twenty quatrains accompanied by abstract compositions and illustrations, reflecting on fleeting moments of existence. Drawing inspiration from the philosophy of Omar Khayyam, the exhibition suggests that the passage from this world to another is neither progressive nor linear, but fragmented and instantaneous. Time is conceived as a dual entity: one face reveals the illusion of appearances, while the other confronts the void.

Human beings remain suspended between these two thresholds, for the destiny of life is defined by its two gates.

There is nothing but the wound of the heart and the gift of life.

Guga Contemporary presents "Hayyam: Moments of Being", a solo exhibition by one of Iran's most distinguished sculptors and printmakers, Ghodartollah Agheli. The exhibition will be on view from May 18 to May 31, 2023.
